GOLDTOPS STUDIOS

We are home to a small independent community of artists and film makers in Newport South Wales.

Ranging from animation and graphic design, film and television production, to design for performance and the visual arts, we keep a person centred approach at the heart of our practice.

Here at Goldtops, community is at the heart of everything we do, from working with local artists and venues to community outreach initiatives aiming to engage and excite people of all ages and backgrounds into getting involved in being expressive and creative.

We strive to work ethically and responsibly whilst constantly pushing our own creative boundaries and encouraging others to do the same.

With a wealth of knowledge in our individual fields and access to state of the art equipment, our goal is to nurture as much as to create, hosting open sessions for aspiring artists and offering more focused programmes to those with more developed ideas and ambitions.

Film Services

With years of experience in the industry, our filmmaking team have a passion for encouraging creative minds to flourish at their own pace and in their own time, with no idea too daring or no statement too bold. Putting these skills and ethos into practice, we are able to offer a range of services to meet your needs and requirements.

Art

Our award winning art department is proud to offer a multitude of creative practices including painting, prose, photography and sculpture. We have the space and facilities to provide Art & Design tutoring in a one-on-one or group setting as well as Therapeutic Arts Practice.

The Goldtops art department has curated exhibitions for Canwood Gallery (Herefiod) and G39 (Cardiff) and has received accolades from both the Wolverhampton and Sydney short film festivals (2022) for production design.

Events

For some, art and creativity comes with a process that may require deep concentration and thought. It can also be an exciting social activity shared amongst groups of friends, colleagues or total strangers! We run regular events across the local area, encouraging newcomers and established artists alike to get together and create in a relaxed and social environment.

Workshops

At Goldtops we believe that art should be accessible to everyone and that creativity will flourish under any circumstances with the right tools and encouragement. We are currently working with a number of venues and organisations to provide these opportunities to communities in and around the Newport area, all with the aim of giving artists agency to continue on their journey having learned the skills they need in a safe and respectful environment, Our workshops cover all aspects of our services and are available to all levels from beginner, intermediate and advanced, to mixed capabilities.
